Message from the CEO
If you've been attending any number of recent telecom industry events, such as Supercomm, Fall VON, or PT Wireless, you've probably heard a lot of buzz about something called IP Multimedia Subsystems, or IMS. While the industry is humming with talk about this promising new technology, many people are still unclear about what, exactly, it is, let alone how it might impact or benefit their business.
IMS originated as a 3rd Generation (3G) mobile network technology. It allows for a wide range of service providers — including mobile operators, Voice over IP (VoIP) companies, and telcos — to enhance their offerings with multimedia applications that function on both traditional circuit-switched and next-generation packet-switched networks. An open system architecture, IMS will permit the creation and delivery of services by a variety of fixed and mobile providers working in cooperation with each other. It thus stands in striking contrast to the traditional, single-operator telecom structure.
Because IMS works with and can combine any traditional or packet-switched fixed or mobile network, it promises to meet the growing requirements of today's application-driven telecom market. In fact, IMS permits the use of different core network architectures so that service layers and elements can be mixed, and it will also allow all providers to customize services for specific subscribers and industries. Ultimately, IMS will provide for the widespread IP-based services that telecom customers are beginning to demand, including push-to-talk, video conferencing, VoIP, instant messaging, and presence, just to name a few.
With IMS poised to dramatically alter the telecom market over the next several years, at Continuous Computing we are working to ensure that our products and services will help our current and future customers in their pursuit of IMS market share. To that end, our integrated products and platforms are designed to provide Telecom Equipment Manufacturers with reliable network infrastructure that allows them to concentrate on developing their value-add — i.e., the application. In doing so, we can help our customers get to market faster, reduce their project risk, and help them to navigate the sometimes stormy waters of telecom technology changes.
As we close out 2005 and look forward to 2006, we can see that IMS — while once only whispered about casually at industry events but now discussed with enthusiasm, acceptance, and acclaim — is well on its way toward large-scale implementation. And with the right telecom platforms in place, that implementation is only a matter of time.

Adax and Continuous Computing Target Trillium®+plus Solutions
Continuous Computing has strengthened its partnership with Adax, the industry leader in high performance communications and signaling infrastructure, by integrating the Adax HDCII and the ATMII product families for narrowband, broadband and IP signaling with Continuous Computing's new Trillium®+plus binary solutions. This joint effort has advanced the Trillium+plus product line to yield pre-integrated, high-performance packages serving SS7, ATM and SIGTRAN over T1/E1, OC3 and Ethernet interfaces across PCI, CompactPCI and AdvancedTCA architectures.
Continuous Computing Receives Prestigious Marketing Awards
In October, Continuous Computing was recognized for marketing excellence by the San Diego chapter of the Public Relations Society of America. The PRSA "Edward L. Bernays Mark of Excellence Awards" is the most prestigious event amongst the public relations / marketing community, and takes place in major cities across the USA. Continuous Computing won the Silver Bernays Award, which is the highest honor for a comprehensive program, for Integrated Communications. This award was in recognition of our overall corporate rebranding effort earlier in the year, which encompassed our collateral, tradeshow booth, website, and public relations efforts. We also won the Bronze Bernays Award, the highest honor for a one-time marketing deliverable, for our corporate brochure.
 PT Wireless in Review
In October, Continuous Computing attended the 2006 PT Wireless show in Beijing, China, where we showed our complete product line in a 36 square meter booth. The show, which is one of the largest telecom events in the Asia Pacific region, attracts approximately 300,000 visitors every year. A successful show all around, we were able to meet new customer prospects, engage with existing partners, and better understand the evolving telecom needs of the Asia Pacific market.

New Product Highlights
Continuous Computing has released a new product in the Trillium+plus line that will accelerate and simplify the development of SS7 nodes. Trillium+plus MAP / TCAP (mobile application part, transaction capability application part) is a pre-integrated, high-performance signaling solution that enables telecom equipment manufacturers to focus their resources on their unique value add — the application — resulting in a quicker time to market and increased return on investment.

New and Updated Marketing Materials
Continuous Computing has recently contributed an article to Wireless Europe about IP Multimedia Subsystems called "IMS Shifts Network Design and Deployment," which outlines IMS technology as well as how platform vendors are helping to bring it to market.
We've also created several new pieces of material designed to help our customers better understand 2G and 3G networks, as well as platform development, evolution, and outsourcing.
